Job summary

Lightsource bp is seeking an HV Engineering Manager to lead HV substation design and delivery across Australia & New Zealand. You will oversee concept design, reviews, and contractor coordination for solar, storage and hybrid projects, reporting to the Head of Commercial Engineering – ANZ.

A strong background in HV systems and renewables is essential. The role requires 5+ years in HV design, integration with NSPs/EPCs, and familiarity with Australian standards, SCADA, and contractual appendices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HV substation design and delivery experience, preferably in renewables.
• Experience with large-scale Solar PV, BESS, Wind or Hybrid grid projects.
• Knowledge of OEM/EPC/ICP/O&M contracts and technical appendices.
• Familiarity with SCADA, cybersecurity and SOCI Act requirements in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Manage MV/HV substations and HV connection infrastructure sizing and delivery.
• Lead concept design for HV connections and review deliverables and cost estimates.
• Review bids and ensure alignment with Principal’s Requirements and contract appendices.
• Attend design reviews, safety in design meetings and site visits as required.
• Prepare equipment layouts, SDs, protection and control schemes and load flow studies.
