About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HV Electrical Tester to be responsible for performing testing activities on distribution and transmission assets, including field protection devices, cable testing, and testing associated with equipment in terminal and zone substations. You will have extensive experience in testing of high-voltage (HV) cables both within and outside of the distribution network ensuring compliance with Victorian Electricity Supply Industry (VESI) Skills, Electrical Safety (General) Regulations, Victorian Service and Installation Rules and UCS Group safe work practices. You will work collaboratively with network operators, tie-in teams, and project managers to integrate testing into project delivery. Additionally, this role requires recording, interpreting, reporting on test results and providing technical recommendations. You will have strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on distribution and transmission assets, including field protection devices and HV cables, both within and outside the distribution network.
• Test equipment in terminal and zone substations and ensure compliance with VESI, Electrical Safety Regulations, and related standards.
• Record, interpret, and report test results and provide technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with network operators, tie-in teams, and project managers to integrate testing into project delivery.

Qualifications and Licenses

• Victorian Electricians Licence Essential
• Current for recent Network Authorisation with network operators Essential
• Certificate IV in ESI-Power Systems Operations or equivalent
• HV Switching, Access Permits, or Sanctions for Testing authorisations as required by the network
• Industry White Card Essential
• Driver's Licence Essential
• Demonstrated experience performing VLF and Tan Delta testing of HV underground cables
• Experience with tie-in and commissioning works within greenfield and brownfield projects Desirable
