Position Summary

This position is based in Capella Sydney and reports to the Director of Human Resources. You will be responsible for the overall smooth daily running of the department. Working closely with the members of the Human Resources team, overseeing recruitment, assisting with learning and development, payroll processing, and employee engagement. Additionally, focus on delivering exceptional service to our colleagues, providing empathy, care, and support to enable Capella’s success, while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and operating procedures.

The Role
  • Assists in identifying key drivers of colleague satisfaction and supports managers in addressing issues with written plans and actions.
  • Assists in the implementation of Human Resources strategies and initiatives to support business objectives.
  • Coordinate with departments and HR colleagues on learning and development, job management, recruitment strategy, and planning.
  • Supports the growth and performance of individuals, coaching and succession planning.
  • Supports the hotel’s focus on providing Capella excellence through training and assisting others to train people to provide exceptional service to the hotel’s external customers (guests).
  • Ensure all local legislation compliance and integrity are upheld at all times.
Talent Profile
  • Tertiary education in Hospitality or Human Resources related.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role at luxury hotels/resorts.
  • Hotel operational experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with HRIS (Zambion).
  • Highly organised with excellent people skills.
  • Passionate about the hotel and hospitality industry.
  • Well-versed in the Hospitality Industry General Award.
  • Familiar with Fair Work, WH&S, and Workers' Compensation.
  • Must have valid existing work rights in Australia.
