Based in Sydney, this newly created Human Resources Business Partner position will play an important role in helping the organisation build a high-performing, people-focused culture as the business continues to grow.

Working closely with managers and operational leaders, you will provide practical and commercially focused HR advice across a complex and highly regulated environment. You will take ownership of the full employee lifecycle while ensuring HR practices remain consistent, compliant and aligned with the organisation’s broader objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for managers, supervisors and employees across a broad range of HR matters
  • Managing recruitment, onboarding, development, performance and offboarding activities
  • Supporting leaders with employee engagement, workforce capability and performance initiatives
  • Managing employee relations matters, including grievances, complaints, workplace conflict and investigations
  • Providing advice across industrial relations matters, including the interpretation of awards, enterprise agreements and individual employment contracts
  • Maintaining HR policies, systems, records, templates and employee communications
  • Coordinating payroll processes and working closely with external payroll providers and internal finance teams
  • Developing and maintaining a practical people plan aligned with workforce, culture and business priorities

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 8 years’ experience within a broad Human Resources Business Partner role, ideally gained within infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction or another complex operational environment.

You will possess strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and relevant awards, together with the confidence to provide pragmatic, risk‑aware advice to leaders. Previous experience supporting site-based employees or major infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.

This opportunity will suit a hands‑on and commercially minded HR professional who enjoys working closely with operational leaders and wants to contribute to the development of a growing organisation delivering nationally significant infrastructure.
