Job summary

St Francis Catholic College in Edmondson Park, NSW, seeks a temporary full-time HSIE teacher for a parental leave replacement from 28 January 2027 to 26 January 2028. The successful applicant will teach HSIE across Stages 4–6, including Business Studies and/or Economics, and support growth in faith and learning.

The role requires commitment to Catholic schooling, relevant qualifications, Level B accreditation or progression toward it, and registration with NESA.

Job description

St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1680 students in 2027. The College is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis was founded in 2017 and offers new, state-of-the-art learning & specialist teaching facilities.

A temporary full time parental leave replacement position commencing 28 January 2027 until 26 January 2028. The successful applicant will be required to teach HSIE subjects in Stages 4, 5 and Stage 6 in Business Studies and/or Economics.

The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students to reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

• Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
• Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
• Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in HSIE.
• Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
• Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

• The ability to teach other subjects within the HSIE curriculum.
• Qualifications to teach Religious Education to Stage 6.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).
• Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
• The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
