St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park invites applications for a permanent full-time Classroom Teacher to teach English to students from Year 5 to Year 12. The successful candidate will support growth in faith and learning within a thriving K-12 learning community.

The role requires commitment to Catholic school mission, ability to create a safe learning environment, and the use of diverse assessment strategies. WWCC is required; NSW teacher registration (NESA) essential.

Job description

St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1650 students in 2026. The College is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis was founded in 2017 and offers new, state-of-the-art learning & specialist teaching facilities.

A permanent full time position commencing 28 January 2027. The successful applicant will be required to teach English from Years 5-12.

The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students to reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

• Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
• Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
• Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in English.
• Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
• Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

• Demonstrated successful experience teaching English to Stage 6 level.
• Ability to teach Religious Education.

GENERAL CAPABILITIES:

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).
• Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
• The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
