Built Environs in Melbourne is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our team. You will educate site workers on hazard identification and lead project-wide safety processes to reduce incidents.

The role requires at least 2 years of HSE experience, strong understanding of WH&S Act and codes, and the ability to communicate technically while coordinating with management, subcontractors and workers. We value safety, care, integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ operational experience in a HSE Advisor role or similar.
• Knowledge of WH&S Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards and their application in construction.
• Strong written and verbal communication at a technical level.
• Display effective organisational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritise key activities.
• Have a strong commitment to ‘Home Without Harm.’

Responsabilités

• Educate site workers on hazard identification, by promoting the See Say Do process to reduce incidents.
• Carry out and deliver project consultation processes including site inductions and toolbox talks; establish safety committees when required.
• Recommend corrective/preventive actions to prevent hazards from escalating into incidents.
• Thoroughly investigate all incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Circulate and disseminate WHSE information across the project.
• Assist with preparation, development and review of construction methodology and SWMS.
• Carry out formal weekly HSE inspections and daily inspections for compliance.
• Review on-site work practices, materials, plant and equipment for WHSE hazards.
• Support Return to Work Coordinator by ensuring Return to Work Plans are in place.
• Review permits to work for compliance with legal and WHSE requirements.
