Job summary

Pact Group is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor for Moorebank and Ingelburn sites. The role involves ensuring robust health, safety, environmental and sustainability performance, with regular travel between sites and reporting to the Regional HSE Manager.

The successful candidate will implement HSE systems, coach leaders and frontline teams, and support incident investigations across sites with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven HSE experience within Australian manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Australian health, safety, environmental and sustainability legislation.
  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites and operational locations.
  • Demonstrated capability in workplace risk assessment, auditing and incident investigation.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify trends and improvements.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder-influencing skills.
  • Flexibility to travel between sites.
  • Current driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

  • Support Site Leaders in implementing health, safety, environmental and sustainability policies and site procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk reviews with timely corrective actions.
  • Establish a consistent site visitation and engagement rhythm based on risk profiles.
  • Provide practical HSE advice to leaders, employees and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a visible presence across sites and verify critical controls.
  • Support and lead incident investigations including reporting and lessons.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training and coaching.
  • Monitor site/portfolio HSE performance and identify risks and improvements.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, warehousing and People & Culture to embed HSE in processes.
  • Apply risk-based approach to site priorities and escalate significant risks.

About this opportunity

We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to provide practical support and subject matter expertise across our Moorebank and Ingelburn sites.

Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, this is a highly visible, site-based role that will work closely with Site Leaders and frontline teams to strengthen health, safety, environmental and sustainability performance. You will support the consistent implementation of Pact Group’s HSE systems while helping each site respond to its particular operational requirements and risk profile.

The allocation of sites may change according to business priorities and operational needs. Regular travel between Ingleburn & Moorebank required.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Support Site Leaders in implementing and maintaining health, safety, environmental and sustainability policies, standards and site procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk reviews, supporting the timely completion of corrective actions.
  • Establish a consistent site visitation and engagement rhythm based on operational requirements and site risk profiles.
  • Provide practical HSE advice and guidance to leaders, employees and other key stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong and visible presence across assigned sites, coaching leaders and frontline employees and verifying that critical controls are effective.
  • Support and, where assigned, lead incident investigations, including analysis, reporting, escalation and the sharing of lessons across sites.
  • Develop and deliver training and coaching to strengthen HSE awareness, capability and accountability.
  • Monitor and analyse site and portfolio-level HSE performance to identify recurring issues, emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with operations, production, maintenance, warehousing, People & Culture and quality teams to embed HSE considerations into business processes and decision-making.
  • Apply a risk-based approach to competing site priorities and elevate significant risks, incidents or unresolved actions when required.
Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Proven HSE experience within an Australian manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Australian health, safety, environmental and sustainability legislation and regulations.
  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites, business units or operational locations.
  • Demonstrated capability in workplace risk assessment, auditing and incident investigation.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify trends and recommend practical improvements.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder-influencing skills.
  • The ability to organise competing priorities according to risk and business need.
  • The flexibility and willingness to travel regularly between assigned sites.
  • A current driver’s licence.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, sustainability or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or Diploma of Work Health and Safety will be advantageous.
  • Training or certification in regulations and standards relevant to Australian manufacturing, including the WHS Act or AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018, will be highly regarded.
