Job summary

RCT powered by Epiroc in Perth, WA, is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to support the development and continuous improvement of our HSE Management System. This hands-on role collaborates with leaders to strengthen safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance across our operations.

You will provide practical guidance, conduct audits and training, manage incidents, and help drive a proactive safety program aligned with the Epiroc Group.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Work Health and Safety.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in an HSE Advisor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian HSE legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Understanding of behavioural-based safety programs.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Willingness to travel within Australia.
  • Incident investigation qualification (ICAM).
  • Experience delivering HSE training and competency programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support development, implementation and continuous improvement of RCT’s HSE Management System.
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and injury management plans, including return-to-work processes.
  • Provide practical HSE advice and guidance to leaders and employees.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits and compliance activities.
  • Deliver HSE training, coaching and competency programs.
  • Identify, assess and control workplace risks using JHAs, Take 5s and SWMS.
  • Develop and review SWMS and SOPs with operational leaders.
  • Implement and manage VOC process.
  • Maintain and improve the Momentum HSE Management System.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain the corporate risk register and monitor corrective actions.
  • Support behavioural safety initiatives aligned with Epiroc Group.
  • Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor to support the ongoing development, implementation and continuous improvement of RCT’s HSE Management System.

This is a varied and hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with leaders and employees across the business to strengthen our safety culture, support compliance and drive continuous improvement.

You’ll have the opportunity to provide practical advice, influence positive change and contribute to initiatives that protect our people and the environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of RCT’s HSE Management System
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and injury management plans, including coordinating return-to-work processes and supporting employees throughout their recovery
  • Provide practical HSE advice and guidance to leaders and employees
  • Promote a proactive culture of safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits and compliance activities
  • Deliver HSE training, coaching and competency programs
  • Support teams to identify, assess and control workplace risks using JHAs, Take 5s and SWMS
  • Develop and review SWMS and SOPs with operational leaders
  • Implement and manage RCT’s Verification of Competency (VOC) process
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Momentum HSE Management System
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain the corporate risk register and monitor corrective actions
  • Support behavioural safety initiatives aligned with the Epiroc Group
  • Maintain and improve RCT’s ISO 14001 Environmental and ISO 45001 Safety Management Systems
About You

You’re a proactive HSE professional who enjoys building strong relationships, influencing positive outcomes and helping others succeed.

You’ll bring a practical, solutions-focused approach, excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for creating safer workplaces.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Diploma or Degree qualification in Work Health and Safety
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in an HSE Advisor or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian HSE legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Experience maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Understanding of behavioural-based safety programs
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to travel within Australia
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Incident investigation qualification, such as ICAM
  • Experience delivering HSE training and competency programs
