Job summary

PHE Group is seeking a safety-focused HSE Advisor to join our Eagle Farm team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role will involve a mix of local and away work, based from our Eagle Farm office in Brisbane.

You will lead WHS initiatives, conduct audits, manage workers’ compensation matters, and ensure compliance with WHS and Environmental regulations. A Diploma OHS or Cert IV WHS is required, with auditing qualifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma OHS qualified or minimum Cert IV WHS required.
• Training and Assessing qualification required.
• Internal Auditing training preferred.
• D&A testing qualification or ability to obtain.
• Return to Work Coordination Qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership that improves WHS across site and supports best practice management systems.
• Conduct training needs analysis and manage internal audit programs with management input.
• Prepare reports, record data, and collect evidence of site compliance.
• Manage workers' compensation matters, including rehabilitation and return to work programs.
• Report workers compensation matters to management.
• Ensure compliance with WHS and Environmental Acts and Regulations by all staff.
• Conduct random D&A testing on site.
• Identify non-conformances, conduct investigations and implement corrective actions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking safety and quality- conscious HSE Advisor to join the team. In this role, you will be based out of our Eagle Farm office on a permanent, full-time basis. This is position will be a mixture of local and away work.

In this role, you will:

• Provide leadership that encourages Work Health, Safety &Environment throughout site to create a continuous improvement culture and implement best practice management systems in the workplace
• Undertake regular training needs analysis and manage internal audit programs in consultation with management team
• Prepare reports, record data, and collect evidence of the site’s compliance
• Provide active management of workers' compensation matters, including rehabilitation, case management and return to work programs
• Report any workers compensation matters to Management
• Ensure that all people work sensibly, safely and abide to all WHS & Environmental Acts and Regulations
• Conduct random D&A testing on site
• Identify health, safety, and environmental non-conformances, conduct investigations and develop solutions for implementation

ABOUT YOU

• Experience as a HSE Advisor working on Industrial Electrical construction projects
• Able to identify and resolve complex problems in a timely manner
• Excellent attitude to safety
• Sound working knowledge and understanding of WHS and Environmental legislation, standards and code of practice
• Strong Safety Leadership
• Highly organised with impeccable attention to detail
• Sound MicrosoftWord and Microsoft Excel skills
• Flexible and open to working away from home, as required by the company.

The successful candidate will have:

• Diploma OHS qualified or Minimum of Cert IV WHS
• Training and Assessing qualification
• Internal Auditing training (preferred)
• D&A testing qualification or ability to obtain
• Return to Work Coordination Qualification
