Overview

HR Operations, Payroll, and Office Administration, APAC — Sydney

Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks a motivated and organized HR Operations, Payroll, and Office Administrator. This role will oversee the daily administrative functions of our People and Culture (including payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS management) and Office Administration (including assisting leaders with their expenses and general office tasks) for the APAC region, made up of 60+ employees across Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore. You will ensure compliance with labor laws, manage employee data, and contribute to a positive employee experience by streamlining HR processes. Basic HR/payroll knowledge is required; you will be coached and provided the opportunity to work on culture, leadership, and lifecycle HR projects.

This individual must have a positive attitude, be willing to wear multiple hats, and be energized by working in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will display a proactive approach, collaborating with key stakeholders across business leadership, Human Resources, and Finance to ensure compliance and effective execution of people strategies. They must also be open to assisting with various administrative tasks and special projects as required.

Role and Responsibilities
  • HRIS Management: Maintaining the Human Resources Information System to ensure data accuracy and efficient record-keeping, including data audits and cleanup in ADP.
  • Payroll Processing: Working with our payroll partner, ADP, to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to relevant labor laws and regulations, including payroll reporting requirements across Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
  • Policy Implementation: Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Annual HR cycle: Partner with the Head of HR, APAC, and global HR team to deliver the annual HR cycle, including performance reviews, promotions, and remuneration reviews for the APAC population.
  • Employment cycle: Responsible for onboarding, new hire orientation, and data entry into the ADP HR Module.
  • Benefits Administration: Managing employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and claims processing.
  • Employee Inquiries: Addressing employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll and benefits.
  • Travel and expenses oversight
  • Office administration: Including ordering supplies.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Ideally 3–5 years of HR and Payroll partnering experience, ideally within Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Initiative to follow through on tasks and problem solve
  • Ability to maintain confidential information regarding all HR activities
  • Ability to work independently, identify opportunities and evolve the people and culture systems and processes accordingly
  • Understanding of the employment legal and regulatory nuances across APAC markets: Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, highly desired
