Enervest, an Australian-owned developer of large-scale energy storage solutions, is seeking a seasoned HR/OHS professional to lead recruitment, onboarding and safety across a lean 30-person team. You will own the end-to-end employee lifecycle, safety programs and compliance frameworks to support rapid growth.
You will manage performance cycles, policy governance, incident response, and ISO readiness while fostering a culture of practical problem-solving and discreet handling of sensitive matters.
Lots in store for those who get it done.
Enervest is heading into its biggest growth phase. The systems, strategy and platform are already in place, so this role isn't about building foundations, it's about using them to scale the team well.
You will be the single point of contact for people, safety and compliance, and the person who makes sure we hire the right people and onboard them properly as we grow, so growth strengthens the business rather than straining it.
It's a broad, hands-on role in a lean team of around 30 people, covering the full employee lifecycle, workplace safety, and compliance.
There's real space to improve and own how things run day to day. If you like variety, autonomy and being close to the action while a business steps up a gear, this one is for you.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, contract drafting and offboarding across the business.
Run the annual goal setting and review cycle, and keep HR policies, records and learning programs current and compliant.
Own workplace safety. Chair the HSEQ committee, manage incident reporting and critical incident response, and coordinate Mental Health First Aiders and fire wardens.
Maintain ISO accreditation and keep the Integrated Management System audit-ready year round.
Maintain the psychosocial risk register in line with consultation and positive duty obligations.
Administer Employment Hero, and support IT on and off-boarding.
Support engagement initiatives including Lunch & Learn, the "Vesties awards" and the engagement committee, plus insurance renewals and ad hoc projects as they come up.
Recruitment and onboarding running smoothly, with roles filled and new starters set up well and within reasonable timeframes.
Built trust as the go-to for people matters, resolving queries early and discreetly before they escalated.
A live psychosocial risk register and incident process that would hold up to scrutiny, not a folder that gets updated the week before an audit.
Prepared for and passed ISO surveillance audits without a last-minute scramble.
HR policies, records and compliance registers current, accurate and easy to find.
Safety, wellbeing and engagement initiatives running on a predictable rhythm the business can rely on.
Minimum 5 years' experience working across HR and OHS, where judgement matters and pace is high.
Experience working within a start-up environment would be advantageous.
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources (or related) and/or a WHS qualification (Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety).
Strong working knowledge of Employment and OHS obligations, psychosocial risk and the positive duty.
Experience managing the employee lifecycle end to end independently, ideally with an HRIS such as Employment Hero.
Familiarity with ISO accreditation, integrated management systems and incident management.
Confident, clear communicator who handles sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgement.
AHRI membership would be advantageous, though not required.
Stay calm and organised when juggling competing priorities across very different domains.
Handle sensitive people and safety matters with discretion, fairness and good judgement.
Tackle hard issues early rather than letting them drift.
Enjoy owning a broad remit and improving how things work as the business grows.
Communicate clearly and simply, especially when translating policy or risk for different audiences.
Take ownership of outcomes and follow matters through from issue to resolution.
Look for practical, repeatable ways to do things better.
