Our client, S & S Australia Investment, Property, Business Advice and Accounting Pty Ltd, is seeking an HR Manager for a three-day-a-week on-site contract in Melbourne. The role focuses on elevating performance and relieving senior leaders to drive growth, operations and client delivery.
You will manage performance, lead disciplinary conversations and drive a culture of accountability and development across the workforce.
Our client is a high-performing Melbourne manufacturing business with an exceptionally strong team and management group. They need an HR Manager who can help them maintain, and further improve, a top 5% performance standard.
Above all, you'll bring a proven track record of uplifting organisations and teams to elite performance standards. You'll take on people-management responsibilities currently carried by managers and senior managers, so they can stay focused on growth, operations, clients and strategic execution.
It's a contract role, three days a week on site, paying $60 to $65 per hour plus super.
In this business, HR exists to help the organisation perform: achieving its strategic objectives through its people, with the workforce delivering the performance, output, improvement and accountability required.
You'll be fact-based, commercially aware and fair, working within all applicable legal, policy and company frameworks. The role suits someone who sees HR first and foremost as a driver of business performance, rather than primarily as a mediator or advocate.
The aim is to free up management time so leaders can keep driving the company's growth.
People here are assessed on their actual contribution, capability and results, never on connections, status or how busy they look. You'll strongly support a culture that judges performance on results, value created, contribution to growth and strategic objectives, quality of work, reliability, accountability and continuous improvement.
Diversity here is the natural result of genuine merit: everyone gets a fair opportunity and is judged on performance and ability. You'll champion that fairness across the organisation and with external stakeholders, including clients.
You’ll also need a relevant degree in human resources, training, behavioural sciences or commerce, and advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Established recruitment systems and support will continue to handle much of this function, so if you bring exceptional capability in performance management, organisational development, leadership support, culture, employee relations, disciplinary processes, continuous improvement and commercial HR, a lack of specialist recruitment expertise won't rule you out.
If you can say this with confidence, and back it up with evidence, we'd like to hear from you:
I can take a high-performing organisation, remove HR and people-management burden from its senior leaders, strengthen accountability and performance, deal confidently with underperformance, develop people further, and help an already strong team perform at an even higher level.
Our client is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants must have permanent, unrestricted rights to live and work in Australia.
