We are proud to be partnering with our client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing sector, to appoint a strategic and hands-on HR Manager (Lead) to join their team. Working closely with site leadership, this role leads core HR functions including workforce planning, ER / IR, talent development, compliance, and employee engagement. A key driver of cultural and performance excellence, the HR Manager ensures HR practices are cost-effective, future-focused, and enable a safe, productive, and values-led workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Align HR strategies with operational needs to drive efficiency and productivity;
- Lead workforce planning and implement proactive talent acquisition strategies;
- Oversee employee lifecycle, training, and leadership development frameworks;
- Manage complex employee and industrial relations matters, including bargaining processes;
- Champion engagement and culture through initiatives that build connection and retention;
- Ensure HR systems, records, and reporting are accurate and compliant;
- Monitor labour utilisation and manage employment types for optimal cost efficiency; and
- Provide expert advice on legislation, policies, and low-risk HR decision-making.
The Ideal Candidate:
You’re a confident and collaborative HR leader with a proven track record in aligning people strategies with business outcomes. Comfortable navigating complexity, you bring a balance of operational discipline and cultural insight, along with sound judgement and a passion for developing people. You thrive in fast-paced environments, value integrity, and lead with purpose and accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or a related discipline (preferred);
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic HR partnering with senior leaders within manufacturing or similar industry;
- Demonstrated success aligning HR initiatives with business goals;
- Experience in workforce planning, forecasting and talent pipeline strategies;
- Proven background in organisational change and cultural transformation;
- Strong ER/IR knowledge, including union engagement and award interpretation;
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills;
- Proficient in HR systems with strong data and reporting capability;
- Sound judgement in navigating complex employee matters; and
- Strategic thinker with a solution-focused, practical mindset.
