Responsibilities

• Operate HR and HC vehicles safely and in compliance with transport regulations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Transport goods across Queensland in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and documentation as required by law and policy.
• Secure and fasten loads to prevent damage and ensure road safety.
• Communicate with dispatch, customers and team members about deliveries and issues.
• Adhere to traffic laws, speed limits and fatigue management rules.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through professional conduct and reliable service.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled HR/HC Driver to join the Milestone Movers team on a full-time basis at our Biggera Waters depot in Queensland. This is an essential position within our operations, responsible for safely operating heavy vehicles to transport goods across Queensland. As an HR/HC Driver, you will be the face of our company on the road, representing our brand with professionalism and integrity while maintaining our strong safety record. This role is critical to our operational success and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

• Operating Heavy Rigid (HR) and Heavy Combination (HC) vehicles safely and in compliance with all road transport regulations
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and safe
• Transporting goods to various destinations across Queensland in a timely and professional manner
• Maintaining detailed logbooks and documentation as required by legislation and company policy
• Securing and fastening loads appropriately to prevent damage and ensure road safety
• Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding deliveries and any issues
• Adhering to all traffic laws, speed restrictions, and fatigue management regulations

What we're looking for

• Valid HR/HC driving licence (or ability to obtain one) with a clean driving record
• Minimum 2 years of experience driving heavy vehicles in commercial transport
• Current knowledge of road rules, vehicle safety standards, and fatigue management legislation
• Strong understanding of load securing requirements and best practices
• Excellent vehicle maintenance awareness and ability to identify mechanical issues
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• Reliability, punctuality, and professional attitude towards work
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks as required
• A commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures
• Experience with modern fleet management systems and GPS technology (desirable)
• Knowledge of general logistics operations (desirable)
