Job summary

Tribe Rural Services in Beechworth, VIC is hiring a full-time driver for regional express bulk freight. You will handle curtainsider multi-drop work to Melbourne and local NE VIC deliveries, with home every night and uniform provided. The role offers above-award pay and a fleet of NEW vehicles as the business grows.

Guaranteed 50 hours per week with $2000+ super before tax; additional hours paid on top. Must be experienced driving in Melbourne traffic and able to pass medical and police checks.

Qualifications

• Terrific presentation, friendly demeanour and customer service ability.
• Curtainsider multi drop and pickup experience.
• Able to assess suitable placement of freight across vehicle.
• Quick loading/unloading and direct forklift coordination.
• Aware of weight distribution and axle limits.
• Strong HR driving experience in 8.8m+ curtainsider vehicles.
• Forklift license or ability to obtain one.
• Experience with tailgate deliveries.
• Able to pass medical and police checks.
• Calm under pressure and able to solve problems on the spot.
• Background in agriculture, trade or mechanical fields.

Responsibilities

• Shifts include long days, 50+ hours as the role builds.
• Deliveries: Melbourne, east/west suburbs, and local NE VIC routes.
• Return home most nights; some local Albury/Wangaratta work.
• Head to Melbourne on Mon/Wed/Fri; local days Tue/Thu/Sat.
• Begin early starts; door-to-door deliveries with 14 pallets.

About the Role

Tribe Rural Logistics are a growing and expanding regional express bulk freight delivery business based in Beechworth VIC. We are expanding and heading into the busy season, we are seeking a driver to start with us on full time basis.

You will be offered guaranteed 50 hours per week $2000+super before tax, additional hours are paid ontop of this. Your working hours will be lower initially, however you will still be paid the guaranteed hours while the role builds.

All of our work consists of curtainsider 14 pallet industrial pickups and deliveries with multiple customers consolidated on the truck, both to and from Melbourne. There is always a mixture of fork on/off and tailgate work. You MUST be experienced driving in metro Melbourne and comfortable with the associated traffic and higher stress driving environment.

Your role will involve both runs to and from Melbourne, as well as days where you will only complete local deliveries around Albury, Wangaratta and surrounding areas. You must be willing and able to do both types of runs.

We head to Melbourne every Monday, Wednesday and Friday with Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday our allocated local days doing deliveries around the Albury/Wangaratta area.

You must be available Saturday mornings to work.

Your days will look like:

• -> 4-5am start (typically 14 hour days door to door)


• -> Deliveries down to Melbourne, pickups across Melbourne covering both east and west suburbs on most days


• -> Return


• -> The next day, deliveries locally around Albury, Wangaratta, ect.


• -> Repeat

Shifts may vary initially while the role builds into a solid working schedule as we are in a growth phase but expect it to quickly mature into a 50+ hour per week role often exceeding this.

The successful candidate must possess all of the below (non-negotiable)

• Terrific presentation, friendly demeanour and customer service ability (you are the face of our business)


• Curtainsider multi drop and pickup experience


• -You must be able to quickly assess suitable placement of multiple different types of freight or differing shapes and sizes across your vehicle.


• -Quick loading and unloading and ability to direct forklift drivers and get the freight on and off quickly is essential


• -You must be aware of weight distribution and where to load freight according to axel limitations


• Strong HR driving experience in 8.8m long vehicles or longer with curtainsider experience


• Forklift license and/or capable on the forklift and willing to obtain license


• Experience with and happy to do tailgate deliveries


• Able to pass a medical and police check


• Calm under pressure


• Able to assess and solve problems on the spot as they arise
