Job summary

Baxter is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our Toongabbie, Sydney operations. You will partner with manufacturing and operational leaders to deliver practical HR support that enhances engagement, capability, performance and organisational effectiveness.

You will bring strong employee relations expertise, knowledge of Australian employment law and modern awards, and the ability to influence leaders in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in human resources or a related discipline.
• Experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or HR generalist in manufacturing or healthcare environments.
• Strong employee relations and performance management capability.

Responsibilities

• Partner with site leaders to deliver a positive employee experience and support business objectives.
• Provide practical advice on employee relations, performance, conduct, grievances and change.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, restructures, and site transitions.
• Advise leaders on Australian employment legislation and modern awards.
• Lead or contribute to HR projects, systems improvements and leadership capability programs.
• Use workforce data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate across regional and offshore teams on HR initiatives.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, people-focused HR Business Partner to join our high-performing HR team. Based at our Toongabbie, Sydney site and reporting to the Senior HR Manager, you will partner closely with manufacturing and operational leaders to deliver practical HR support and initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, capability, performance and organisational effectiveness.

About You

You are a proactive and commercially minded HR professional who enjoys working close to operations. You build trusted relationships, approach challenges practically and confidently manage competing priorities.

You bring strong employee relations capability, sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and modern awards, and the ability to influence leaders across a complex, fast-paced environment. Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical or healthcare operations would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with site, manufacturing and operational leaders to deliver a positive employee experience and support business objectives.
• Provide practical advice on employee relations, performance, conduct, grievances and organisational change.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, restructures, site transitions and other business transformation initiatives.
• Advise leaders on Australian employment legislation, modern awards and company policies.
• Lead or contribute to HR projects, systems improvements, leadership capability programs and performance frameworks.
• Use workforce and people data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Build strong relationships across local, regional and offshore teams and contribute to broader HR initiatives.

Key Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in human resources or a related discipline.
• Experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or HR generalist, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, healthcare or another operational environment.
• Strong employee relations and performance management capability.
• Practical knowledge of Australian employment legislation and modern awards.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with frontline, operational and senior leaders.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across regional and offshore teams.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a multinational or matrix organisation is advantageous.
