Job summary

Unilever in Tatura, Australia, seeks an HR Business Partner - Foods to lead HR strategy and advisory services for the Foods business. Based at the Foods Factory, you will partner with factory and head office teams to deliver end-to-end HR leadership, people strategy, performance and compliance.

You will drive cultural transformation, manage industrial relations, payroll compliance and site programs, while working with unions and senior leaders to achieve the Master Plan goals.

HR Business Partner - Foods

Location: TATURA, AUSTRALIA

Job Purpose

This role will be the key HR Lead role for the Unilever Foods business. The role will be based in the Foods Factory (Tatura) and partner both the factory teams and Head office teams who work in the Foods business. The role will hence be responsible for end-to-end HR leadership for the Foods business including people strategy, performance and HR operations and compliance. This includes delivering high-impact HR leadership and advisory services to both management and employees, driving cultural transformation, and other such initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy Partner with Foods leadership to foster a high-performance culture
• Partner with Foods leadership to design and deliver HR site priorities
• Deliver HR processes and policies that align with site-specific business goals.
• Deliver HR projects that align with the Factory Master Plan and global initiatives.
• Performance Validate workforce metrics and data for the business.
• Facilitate recruitment and onboarding activities
• Provide comprehensive HR support to all leaders and employees.
• Drive continuous improvement through coaching and feedback.
• Industrial Relations Manage complex workplace issues, including grievances, investigations, and disciplinary actions, with professionalism and compliance.
• Facilitate site Enterprise Agreement (EA) negotiations.
• Key liaison with union representatives.
• Monitor and address legal compliance across Fair Work legislation, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and employment contracts.
• Build positive, transparent relationships with union and employee representatives, fostering mutual trust and proactive issue resolution.
• Provide expert advice on the interpretation and application of the EA, Fair Work legislation, and site policies.
• Support audits as required.
• Payroll, Systems & Compliance Oversee end-to-end payroll accuracy and compliance for EBA employees, including audit of pay classifications, backpay, and allowances.
• Support compliance with Global requirements.
• Other Oversee the training budget and structured training activities for the site.
• Oversee the health and well-being budget and facilitate associated activities for the site.
• Coordinate site wellbeing campaigns, recognition events, and engagement activities.

Qualifications and Experiences

• Tertiary qualifications in human resources or a related field.
• Previous HR generalist or business partner experience.
• Previous experience working in a factory environment and dealing with Unions.
• Strong understanding of employment legislation and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
