Job summary

C Cheltenham Manor Aged Care, part of Medical & Aged Care Group (MAACG), seeks reliable Casual Housekeeping Attendants for its Melbourne southeast home. You’ll clean resident rooms, manage laundry, and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for older Australians.

We offer 2 casual positions with 25% loading, flexible shifts, and a supportive team that values dignity and resident comfort. Training and staff benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning, housekeeping or laundry experience.
• Sound knowledge of infection control practices.
• Experience operating commercial laundry equipment (highly regarded).
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous aged care or healthcare experience (highly regarded).
• A basic understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards (highly regarded).

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties according to schedules and duty lists.
• Maintain residents’ rooms, bathrooms, common areas and facilities to hygiene standards.
• Launder residents’ personal clothing and home linen with care; operate laundry equipment safely.
• Follow infection prevention, WHS and facility policies and complete required documentation.
• Report hazards, cooperate with care, kitchen and housekeeping teams, uphold dignity.

About the Role:

Excellent opportunity for Casual Housekeeping Attendants to join our Housekeeping team at Cheltenham Manor Aged Care.

We are seeking reliable, hardworking and caring people who take pride in creating a clean, safe and welcoming home for our residents.

Our Housekeeping role combines cleaning and laundry duties. You will keep residents’ rooms and common areas clean and hygienic, and launder residents’ personal clothing and the home’s linen with care. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in their work, and wants to make a real difference to residents’ comfort, dignity and quality of life.

We have 2 x Casual positions available. Shifts will be offered based on roster needs and your availability. We are looking for people to start in these roles ASAP.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning

• Carry out cleaning duties in line with cleaning schedules and duty lists
• Maintain residents’ rooms, bathrooms, common areas and facilities to required hygiene standards
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and efficiently

Laundry

• Launder residents’ personal clothing with care, making sure items are returned to the right resident and look their best
• Launder facility linen and keep a sufficient supply of clean, well presented linen for daily needs
• Operate laundry equipment safely and correctly

Across both

• Follow infection prevention and control, WHS and facility policies
• Complete required documentation accurately
• Report hazards, risks and incidents promptly
• Work cooperatively with the care, kitchen and housekeeping teams
• Treat residents with respect and maintain their privacy and dignity

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous cleaning, housekeeping or laundry experience
