Job summary

Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo is seeking experienced Housekeepers to join our Accommodation team. You’ll help keep award-winning facilities and public spaces looking their best while surrounded by wildlife each day.

As a Cleaner/Housekeeper, you’ll ensure accommodation and spaces meet high standards, working with a supportive team to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Benefits include competitive pay and ongoing employment.

• Located at the iconic Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo
• Ongoing, full-time Housekeeper position TCSA Wages Employees Award, Cleaner Level 1, annual package $61,830 (includes base salary $54,552 + plus superannuation & leave loading)
• Casual positions available TCSA Wages Employees Award, Cleaner Level 1, hourly rate $34.27 (includes base hourly rate $27.51 + weekend penalties)

Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo is looking for experienced and motivated Housekeepers to join our Accommodation team!

As part of our friendly Housekeeping Team, you ’ ll help keep Taronga Western Plains Zoo ’ s award winning accommodation and public areas looking their best — all while being surrounded by incredible wildlife every day.

About The Role

As a Cleaner/Housekeeper, you ’ ll play a key role in ensuring our accommodation and public spaces are presented to the highest standard. You ’ ll work closely with a high performing team and contribute to the exceptional guest experience Taronga is known for.

Key Accountabilities

• Maintain clean, safe and well-presented accommodation facilities, public areas, administrative buildings and associated precincts that enhance the visitor and guest experience and reflect Taronga’s high standards.
• Ensure the presentation and amenity of accommodation and operational facilities support Taronga’s reputation as a world-class tourism, education and conservation destination.
• Contribute to industry-leading customer experiences by delivering responsive, professional and high-quality service aligned with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter.
• Support the communication of Taronga’s conservation, education and sustainability messages through positive interactions with guests, visitors, staff and volunteers that reflect Taronga’s values.
• Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team environment that supports the achievement of Taronga’s strategic objectives and operational priorities.
• Promote environmentally sustainable practices that support Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce the environmental impact of operations.
• Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.

About You

We are looking for candidates that have:

• Current NSW Drivers License or ability to have existing license formally recognised,
• Vaccinations against Zoonotic diseases (in accordance with Taronga’s Zoonotic disease vaccination matrix) at your own expense – Hep A.
• Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check at your own expense.
• Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
