Minor Hotels is seeking a casual Housekeeping team member for dual roles in Guest Room Cleaning and Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support at Oaks Melbourne St Kilda Road Suites. The role involves cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces, with after-hours guest assistance and a rotating roster across Monday to Sunday.

Weekend availability is required. Shifts start between 8:00 am and 9:00 am, with hourly rates of $33.05–$46.27 AUD depending on day.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience will be highly regarded.
• Good physical fitness and stamina for repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and high cleanliness standards.
• Basic understanding of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training provided).
• Professional and clear communication with guests, team members, and contractors.
• Strong time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Positive, proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Guest Room Cleaning: Thoroughly clean guest rooms, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms to ensure a pristine environment.
• Guest Room Cleaning: Complete daily cleaning tasks efficiently within the allocated hours.
• Guest Room Cleaning: Collaborate with team members to meet cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support: Clean and maintain all shared guest areas to the highest standards, ensuring spaces remain hygienic and visually appealing.
• Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support: Assist with after-hours guest enquiries, while addressing issues promptly.
• Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support: Operate specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively (training provided).
• Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support: Build positive, professional relationships with guests, colleagues, and contractors.

Oaks Melbourne St Kilda Road Suites is excited to expand our housekeeping department, with this dual role now available on a casual basis. If you're energetic, have a keen eye for detail, and thrive in a team-oriented environment, we'd love to have you on board!

This dual role combines Guest Room Cleaning with Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support responsibilities. You'll play a vital part in ensuring an exceptional guest experience by maintaining our high standards of cleanliness, while also assisting guests as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Guest Room Cleaning:
  • Thoroughly clean guest rooms, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms to ensure a pristine environment.
  • Complete daily cleaning tasks efficiently within the allocated hours.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support :
  • Clean and maintain all shared guest areas to the highest standards, ensuring spaces remain hygienic and visually appealing.
  • Assist with after-hours guest enquiries, while addressing issues promptly.
  • Operate specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively (with full training provided).
  • Build positive, professional relationships with guests, colleagues, and contractors.

Shift Details (subject to change)

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• Must be available to work weekends
• Shifts starting between 8:00 am and 9:00 am

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation)

• Monday - Friday: $33.05 per hour
• Saturday: $39.66 per hour
• Sunday: $46.27 per hour

Successful candidates will have

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles will be highly regarded.
• Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training will be provided).
• Professional and clear communication skills to interact with guests, team members, and contractors.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
• A positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
