Job summary

Position Details

The House Coordinator is a key leadership position responsible for the day-to-day operations of a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home located within Adelaide's eastern and north-eastern suburbs.


Reporting to the Client Services Manager, you will be responsible for supporting a team of Community Support Workers while ensuring high-quality, person-centred outcomes for clients, compliance with NDIS requirements and the smooth operation of the home.


This role combines dedicated administration time with direct client-facing support shifts, providing an opportunity to lead by example and remain actively involved in service delivery.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Coordinating daily operations within the SIL home.

  • Providing leadership, guidance and support to Community Support Workers.

  • Promoting a positive team culture focused on person-centred support.

  • Maintaining accurate documentation, client records and compliance requirements.

  • Monitoring and supporting client goals, wellbeing and quality outcomes.

  • Liaising with families, guardians, allied health professionals and external stakeholders.

  • Assisting with roster coverage and service continuity when required.

  • Leading by example through active participation in support shifts.


Your Availability

This position is worked across a 24/7 roster and requires flexibility to undertake:



  • Morning shifts.

  • Day shifts.

  • Afternoon and evening shifts.

  • Weekend shifts.

  • Public holiday shifts when rostered.

  • Passive sleepover shifts.

  • This role includes a combination of dedicated administrative hours, which may be completed at the SIL home or DLi's Head Office, together with direct client-facing support shifts. As this is a participant-facing role with rostered support responsibilities, opportunities for flexible work arrangements are limited and subject to operational requirements.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced disability support professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality services and developing strong, capable teams.


You will demonstrate:



  • Previous experience within Supported Independent Living or disability services.

  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

  • Sound organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • A commitment to person-centred practice and human rights principles.

  • Confidence managing competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.


Essential Requirements:


  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification.

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

  • Current Working with Children Check.

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.

  • Current Medication Administration training.

  • Current Manual Handling training.

  • Mealtime Management training.

  • Infection Control training.

  • NDIS Quality, Safety and You Certificate.

  • Full Australian Driver's Licence.

  • Evidence of working rights within Australia.

  • Strong computer literacy and administration skills.


Highly Desirable:


  • Experience in a leadership, senior support worker or coordinator role.

  • Experience supporting clients with complex support, health or behavioural needs.

  • CPI, MAPA or similar behaviour support training.

  • Experience working within SIL environments.
