Job summary

Mercure Hotel Perth is seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to maintain guest rooms, corridors and public spaces to high aesthetic standards. You will also handle general maintenance tasks to keep the hotel in pristine condition.

You will combine painting and surface finishing expertise with practical maintenance skills, performing routine tasks and coordinating with Engineering and Housekeeping to minimise disruption during refurbishments. Safety protocols must be followed at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience in interior and exterior painting and surface finishing.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-quality interior and exterior painting, touch-ups, wallpaper application, plaster patching, and surface preparation across guest rooms, corridors, conference spaces, and dining areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., carpentry touch-ups, door hardware adjustments, fixture repairs, basic tiling or caulking).
• Log defects and coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Adhere to safety, health, and fire-life-safety protocols while working around guests and staff.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Housekeeping teams to coordinate room turnarounds and refurbishments with minimal disruption.
