Punthill Albury, part of Veriu Group, is hiring a Hotel Manager to lead pre-opening activities and ramp-up for an 83-apartment property opening in early 2027. You will establish the team, suppliers, and processes on-site, then stabilise operations, grow the hotel's presence in local and corporate markets, and drive profitability.

We’re excited to announce Punthill Albury, an 83‑apartment hotel set to bring our contemporary comfort and style to the heart of Albury’s CBD. Perfectly positioned on Dean Street, the property will cater to the accommodation needs of the broader Albury‑Wodonga region, offering convenient access to the city’s vibrant dining, retail, and cultural precincts, as well as the picturesque Murray River.

Designed for both short and extended stays, Punthill Albury will feature a mix of studio, one‑bedroom, and two‑bedroom apartments, each with a fully equipped kitchen, in‑room laundry, and dedicated workspace. Guests will also enjoy conference facilities, a gym, secure parking, and a welcoming communal lounge, creating a true home‑away‑from‑home experience.

Benefiting from Albury’s ongoing civic investment, infrastructure upgrades, and strategic location along the Melbourne‑Sydney corridor, the hotel is set to open in early 2027 and is poised to become the premier accommodation choice for both corporate and leisure travellers visiting the region.

Responsibilities

As Hotel Manager, you’ll guide Punthill Albury through its most important phases: pre‑opening, ramp‑up, stabilisation, and the path to profitability.

In the lead‑up to opening, you’ll work within the Veriu Group framework to establish the team, structure, suppliers, and operational processes required for a seamless launch. You’ll spend significant time on‑site ensuring pre‑opening tasks and timelines are met, while collaborating closely with our Development team and key stakeholders. Just as importantly, you’ll be driving business development, building strong relationships and reputation with corporate partners to position the hotel for long‑term success.

Once open, your focus will shift to establishing and stabilising the business, embedding efficient operations while growing the hotel’s presence within the local community and corporate markets. At Veriu Group, our hotels are run like small businesses, and our Hotel Managers know that genuine success comes from staying focused on the commercial drivers that matter most. Your responsibilities will require you to:

Skills and Experiences

About You

We work in a fast‑paced environment where no day is the same, so we’re looking for people who are adaptable, enjoy variety and operate with an ownership mindset.

The successful person must have:

• Approved Australian working rights (Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or a Visa with approved working rights)
• First Aid Certificate (or be able to obtain)
• Willingness to obtain a Liquor Licence (at our expense)
• Demonstrated experience leading a team with kindness in order to achieve outcomes within a customer service environment
• Demonstrated ability to resolve problems / complaints
• High standards of attention to detail and communication skills (written & verbal)
• Passion for personal growth
