Job summary

Dorsett Gold Coast is seeking a hands-on Hotel Maintenance Officer to keep facilities, guest rooms and public areas safe and well maintained.

You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, respond to requests, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with the Building Manager, contractors and suppliers to ensure timely resolution and high standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel, facilities, building or general maintenance is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting.
• Confident using hand and power tools safely.
• Strong problem solving skills and a proactive, hands on approach.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative and reactive maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas
• Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs in a timely manner
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements
• Carry out general repairs including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and furniture repairs within your level of competency
• Assist with the maintenance of plant, equipment and building services
• Log and track maintenance requests and completed work using our maintenance management system, Optii
• Assist with contractor access, supervision and coordination as required
• Maintain appropriate stock levels of maintenance supplies, tools and equipment
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with WHS requirements and hotel procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment

Dorsett Gold Coast is a stylish and contemporary hotel located in the vibrant heart of the Gold Coast. With 313 rooms, modern facilities and a busy guest environment, no two days are the same. Our Maintenance team plays an important role in keeping the hotel safe, functional and looking its best for our guests and team.

As part of the globally recognised Dorsett brand, we are looking for a reliable, practical and proactive individual to join our team and help keep everything behind the scenes running smoothly.

About the Role

As a Hotel Maintenance Officer at Dorsett Gold Coast, you’ll be responsible for keeping our hotel facilities, guest rooms and public areas safe, functional and well maintained.

This is a hands on role where you’ll work across preventative and reactive maintenance, respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues and complete general repairs. You’ll also work closely with our Building Manager, hotel team, contractors and suppliers to ensure maintenance issues are resolved efficiently and to a high standard.

What We Are Looking For:

• Previous experience in hotel, facilities, building or general maintenance is preferred.
• Relevant trade qualification or maintenance experience is highly regarded
• Practical knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting
• Confident using hand and power tools safely
• Strong problem solving skills and a proactive, hands on approach
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks
• Basic computer skills and confidence using digital systems
