Job summary

Crowne Plaza Geelong is seeking a hands-on Handyperson to keep our hotel safe, functional and impeccably presented for guests and staff. You will perform routine maintenance across guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities, diagnose minor issues, and assist with event setups and contractor coordination.

The ideal candidate has hotel or similar maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and a practical trade or technical qualification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Trade or technical qualifications are advantageous.
• Experience in general maintenance, repair work, and basic construction tasks.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs across hotel areas.
• Diagnose and resolve plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical issues.
• Inspect property to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Respond to guest repair requests promptly and professionally.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and materials used.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in setting up and tearing down event spaces.
