Job summary

Bupa in Caulfield (Melbourne) is seeking a dedicated team member to deliver hospitality support in our care home, including catering, cleaning and laundry, to enhance resident comfort and wellbeing.

You will work as part of a friendly team, with flexible shifts, and no prior experience required beyond a willingness to learn; WHS and hygiene practices are important, and you will assist residents with care needs and queries.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Cleaning or catering experience preferred but not essential.
• Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week.
• Understanding of work health, safety and hygiene practices and the ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Maintain legislated workplace health and safety, quality and hygiene standards.
• Complete required documentation and reporting.
• Respond to residents’ queries and requests.
• Laundry duties include loading washers & dryers, sort linen, hang, fold, wrap or iron linen.
• Catering / food services duties include assisting with basic food prep, provide meals and snacks, clear dining areas and dishwashing.
• Cleaning duties include general cleaning; mopping, vacuuming, and waste collection in the residents’ rooms, bathrooms, communal and living areas.

About the Home

A modern care home set in the leafy bayside suburb of Caulfield, with public transport links close by. Located 17kms from the CBD, close to the beach and shops, this care home consists of 127 beds, with a variety of care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents.

About the Role

To deliver effective support to the hospitality function within the care home, including catering, cleaning and laundry

Use your fantastic food services and cleaning skills in a role where you really can make a difference by providing our residents with an empathetic and personal approach.

About you

Previous catering / food service or cleaning experience preferred but not essential.

You will be a team player and someone who enjoys interacting with people and giving back to our most vulnerable.
