Job summary

The George On Collins, Melbourne, is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of the group's financial reporting, cash-flow management and commercial analysis. You will work closely with directors, venue managers and external advisers to ensure timely, accurate financial information that translates into practical actions.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling across multiple venues, with strong focus on BAS, payroll tax, GST and statutory obligations.

Qualifications

• Experience as Finance Manager or similar in hospitality sector.
• Experience across multiple entities/venues.
• Knowledge of BAS, GST, PAYG withholding and payroll tax.
• Strong cash-flow forecasting and management reporting.
• Ability to translate financial results into operational improvements.
• CA or CPA qualifications, or progress towards them, will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly venue and group performance reports and monthly management accounts.
• Maintain rolling 13-week cash-flow forecasts and monitor upcoming payments and liabilities.
• Analyse sales, labour, food and beverage costs, margins and operating expenses against budgets.
• Work with venue managers and chefs to improve purchasing, stock control, labour planning and profitability.
• Oversee payroll accuracy, accounts payable/receivable and offshore accounts team.
• Lead budgets, forecasts and financial modelling for operational changes and potential acquisitions.
• Improve financial systems, reporting automation and processes across the group.
• Present clear recommendations and hold teams accountable for agreed actions.
