Job summary

The Queensland Government's Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Trade Assistant to support electrical and mechanical maintenance teams. You will replace non-functional light fittings and assist with daily maintenance tasks, transporting equipment and keeping work areas clean.

Under the direction of a leading hand electrician, you will use hand tools and minor power tools, and work with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure safe, reliable hospital infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Replace non-functional light fittings as directed by leading hand electrician.
• Ferry vehicles, equipment and furniture; assist with cleaning as defined by the maintenance Trade Co-ordinator.
• Assist all trades as negotiated and follow duties typical of a trades assistant.
