Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking a Hospital Assistant at Blayney Health Service to support an efficient catering and cleaning service for patients and facilities. The role includes permanent and casual opportunities with shifts from 06:30 to 15:00, 10:30 to 19:00, and 09:00 to 17:30, along with mandatory training and supervision.

You will assist with meal preparation, delivery, tray collection, and cleaning, and must hold a NSW driver’s licence to support work duties across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and catering support within health services.
• Current NSW driving licence with ability to drive for work purposes.
• Ability to perform high-level cleaning and assist with meal preparation.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
• Mandatory online and face-to-face training is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties including high- and outside cleaning.
• Assist the cook with meal preparation and menu planning for patients.
• Deliver meals to patients and residents; collect trays after meals.
• Load/unload dishwasher and prepare meal trays.
• Launder residents' washing and maintain food safety/hygiene knowledge.
• Work on rotating roster shifts, including weekends/public holidays.
