Job summary

The Tasmania Government Department of Health is seeking a reliable Kitchen Hand to join the Launceston General Hospital Food Services team. The role supports operations by dishwashing, cleaning, stock rotation, and maintaining hygiene and food safety.

This permanent, part-time, shift-based position offers a pro rata salary of $59,668 to $65,185 per year plus 12% superannuation, with salary packaging and benefits like Fitness Passport.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining cleanliness of food prep equipment and areas.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and work as part of a team.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out dishwashing, cleaning, and stock rotation to keep kitchen operations running smoothly.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety across equipment and surfaces.
• Support the Food Services team in daily tasks within Launceston General Hospital.
• Cooperate with staff to ensure quality food service to patients, residents, staff and visitors.
