Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking a Health & Security Assistant (Wardsperson) to provide essential non-clinical support across the hospital on a 24/7 rotating roster. The role involves assisting nursing staff, transporting patients, and participating in emergency codes and mortuary duties.

The ideal candidate has a Security Licence, Senior First Aid, WWCC and demonstrated manual handling, infection control knowledge, with strong customer service and teamwork abilities.

Qualificações

• Current Security Industry Licence and Senior First Aid Certificate with WWCC.
• Commitment to professional customer service to patients, staff and the public.
• Knowledge of Manual Handling and Infection Control principles.
• Willingness to relieve in higher grade positions as required.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and independently.
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised during high demand periods.

Responsabilidades

• Provide support across the hospital seven days a week on a 24-hour rotating roster.
• Assist nursing staff in patient care and transport patients for admission/discharge.
• Attend emergency codes and perform mortuary duties as required.
• Assist security staff in code black situations.
• Relieve in cleaning discharge beds during night duty when needed.
• Attend ICU during nights, weekends, and holidays when ICU Technicians are unavailable.
