Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Catering Assistant to support the bank for RLH and LWH. You will prepare and serve meals to patients, staff and visitors, help maintain high hygiene standards, and work across main kitchens, ward kitchens, dining rooms and coffee shops.

The role involves following approved methods, timeframes and safety procedures. Applicants should be prepared to move between tasks, handle cold food preparation, and assist chefs with basic cooking

Qualifications

• Experience with food handling and hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow HACCP and safety guidelines.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate required (or renewed every 3 years).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals to patients, staff and visitors.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchens, dining areas, and equipment.
• Assist with basic food preparation and cooking as directed.
• Take and record temperatures of food and report failures.
• Work as part of catering team under supervision.
