Job summary

The Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) is seeking a Home Tutor to support four children doing distance education via Mount Isa School of the Air. You will supervise lessons, liaise with teachers, and help plan engaging activities while joining station life.

You will contribute to a safe, well-organised learning environment, coordinating with parents and management, and supporting education in a remote outback setting with air-conditioned accommodation and family-friendly benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or distance education is an advantage.
• Strong organisational and communication skills required.
• Ability to multitask and support multiple children remotely.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily school lessons and educational programs aligned with curriculum.
• Maintain contact with teachers via phone, email, and reporting systems; provide progress feedback to parents.
• Plan and prepare lessons; encourage extracurricular activities (sports, art, science).
• Provide childcare outside school hours when parents work.
• Maintain a child-safe environment and keep the schoolroom clean and safe.
• Assist with tasks including cleaning, washing, supplementary feeding, as directed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain personal equipment in good condition.

Dalgonally Station is located 80km north of Julia Creek and 189km north east of Cloncurry, in close proximity to Carrum Station. The property is a growing out station for cattle from the breeding stations.
