Job summary

HammondCare is seeking Care Workers in Sydney to provide essential, practical care to help older people live independently at home. You will travel to clients’ homes using your own car, earning $29.71–$31.04 per hour plus 96c/km and paid travel time.

Responsibilities include personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and medication assistance. A valid driver’s licence and vehicle are required; a Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support is preferred

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's licence and access to insured, reliable car.
• Ideally, a Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support.
• Willingness to travel to clients' homes and work across multiple locations.
• No prior aged care experience required; full training provided.

• About the role

  In this role, youll provide essential and practical care to help older people live independently in their homes and directly improve their quality of life. The role requires travel to clients homes using your own car for which you'll be paid $0.96 cents per km plus paid travel time.

  The care work youll be doing may include:

  • Providing personal care - helping with showering and dressing
  • Helping around the home - meal preparation and light house cleaning
  • Providing transportation to appointments and assisting with shopping
  • Assisting with medication

  About you

  • You can relate to people and you're patient and solutions-focused.
  • You may have previous experience in aged or community care or are looking to start your career in aged care.
  • You have a valid Drivers Licence and access to an insured, reliable car (min. Third Party Property Insurance).
  • Ideally, you'll have a Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support. If you're not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help you.
  • You'll be flexible around meeting the changing needs of home care clients.

  You will be required to undertake a Police Check, provide two referees and evidence of three COVID-19 vaccinations.

  All of our roles have the following minimum requirements:

  • Drivers licence, third party car insurance, access to vehicle(non negotiable)
  • Willingness to complete HammondCares Criminal Record Check(non negotiable)
  • Willingness to complete a functional physical assessment(non negotiable)
  • Previous experience in aged care(preferred, not essential)
  • 3 Covid vaccination: 2x mandatory + 1x booster(if candidate has 2 we can start recruitment process, but cant work until they have 3)
