Job summary

Caring Society is seeking Home Care Support Workers to provide in-home care across Canberra and surrounding suburbs. The role includes personal care, domestic help, and coordinating transport for appointments, with shifts that suit flexible schedules.

Casual and part-time opportunities exist, with hourly rates of $40–$45 plus superannuation. Candidates need Certificate III in Community Care, a valid driver’s licence, and current First Aid/CPR; Covid vaccination is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or higher in Community Care with specialisation in Disability, Individual Support, or Ageing Support.
• Flexible availability to work a range of hours between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
• Valid motor vehicle license (Full C Class or Unrestricted International).
• Access to your own registered, reliable, and comprehensively insured motor vehicle.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Willingness to undergo a National Criminal Check (within 12 months) or to obtain one.
• Current Working with Vulnerable People Card.
• Evidence of Covid vaccination (essential).
• Flu vaccination recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services such as bathing, dressing, and medication assistance.
• Deliver in-home support and assist with household tasks, including meal preparation, light housework, and shopping.
• Coordinate transportation for medical appointments and outings, ensuring clients remain connected to their community.
• Review care plans, identify client objectives and requirements, and maintain crucial information using our app.
• Ensure client safety by identifying and addressing potential risks.

What's involved in the role?
Home Care Support Workers in delivering a comprehensive range of 'In-Home Care services. These dedicated professionals primarily work independently in client homes while receiving direct support from their Care Manager.

The key responsibilities and duties of Home Care Support Workers encompass:

Provide personal care services such as bathing, dressing, and medication assistance.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following skills, experience, and credentials:

Certificate III or higher in Community Care, with specialisation in Disability, Individual Support, or Ageing Support.
