Job summary

Healthcare Australia is seeking a compassionate Home Care Support Worker for a casual role serving Terang, Camperdown and surrounding areas. You will provide in-home and community-based support, helping clients with daily living and community engagement.

The role offers flexible casual hours and travel between client locations. Ideal candidates have relevant certificates, CPR/First Aid, police check, and a current driver’s licence with a insured vehicle.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support, Home & Community, or Youth.
• Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certificates.
• Police Check within the last 6 months and up-to-date vaccination status.
• Australian Driver's Licence (unrestricted) and comprehensively insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred client care following Individual Care Plans.
• Assist with daily routines including hygiene, dressing and meals.
• Assist with medication support as per client care plan.
• Encourage participation in activities and transport to social events.
• Respond to health changes by contacting supervisor or emergency services.

As a Home Care Support Worker with Healthcare Australia, you will provide high-quality care and support to clients living in their own homes or within a supported community setting. Your role will involve assisting individuals with activities of daily living and helping them engage in their community. Through a person-centred approach, you will work to empower clients to achieve their personal goals and promote their independence.

What You'll Do:

• Client Care:
  • Support clients using a person-centred approach, following their Individual Care Plan.
  • Assist with daily routines and personal hygiene, including toileting, showering, dressing, and meals.
  • Help with medication support, as per your training and the client's care plan.
  • Be ready to respond promptly if a client's health deteriorates by contacting emergency services, HCA, or your supervisor.
  • Help create a safe environment that reduces challenging behaviours, as per the behaviour support plan.
  • Encourage client participation in activities and community events, including transportation to social venues, appointments, and shopping.
• Care Environment:
  • Work in the client's home or a supported community setting, following all policies, procedures, and documentation requirements of Healthcare Australia and the relevant setting.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or near-misses in line with the NDIS Act and relevant frameworks.

What we are looking for:

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support, Home & Community, or Youth
• Current CPR/BLS Certificate.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current Police Check (within the last 6 months).
• Up-to-date vaccination status (as per Healthcare Australia and current legislative requirements).
• Australian Driver's Licence (unrestricted).
• Registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle

Skills and Experience:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English.
• Proficient in the safe use of manual handling equipment, including hoists and slide sheets.
• Excellent time management abilities and a reliable work ethic.
• 6-12 months of experience in a support worker role (preferred).
