Job summary

Healthcare Australia is seeking kind and patient Home Care Support Workers for Port Macquarie and surrounds. Roles include assisting with daily living, domestic tasks, meals and personal care, with vehicle transport between locations.

A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent and a valid driver’s license are required. Casual shifts with potential progression, free training, uniform, and a user-friendly shifts app are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in elderly care is preferred.
• Willingness to obtain police check and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist daily living tasks and domestic support.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as required.
• Provide personal care support and accompany clients to activities and appointments.
• Support community access and participation for elderly clients.

About you

We are seeking kind, patient, empathetic individuals to join our Home Care Support Worker with their Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent team for the Port Macquarie and surrounds.

Applicants willing to accept shifts in the following areas will be looked on favourably:

• Huntington
• Yippin Creek
• Redbank
• Sancrox
• Lake Innes
• Thrumster

The successful applicant understands that their ability to be consistent in their shifts has a huge impact on their clients, who have spent their lives contributing to our community. They would be available for shifts Monday to Friday in hours between 7am and 5:30pm.

Successful applicant will take pride and joy in giving back to the elderly of our community by assisting with Domestic and Social Support Work including cleaning, cooking, transporting and accompanying/assisting clients to social events and appointments. Applicants with relevant Certificate III and above qualifications will also be performing personal care tasks such as showering, assisting with feeds, toileting etc.

About The Role

Successful applicants will be working with our elderly customers with the goal to help them remain in their own homes for as long as possible and live a fulfilling life independently. Support may include assistance with Daily living, such as domestic support, meal preparations, personal care, and/or community access and participation.

To be considered

• Experience supporting the elderly preferred
• Cert III + Personal Support Qualification mandatory
• Valid AU Drivers Licence, either Green P Plates or Full License
• Must have reliable vehicle to transport between customer locations and have or be willing to obtain full comprehensive insurance (KM’s are paid)
• Be able to supply a Police Check no older than six months
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain)
