Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking an experienced swimming coach to join the Sydney University Performance Centre as Program Manager / Assistant Coach. This role blends high-performance coaching with program leadership, athlete development and talent recruitment within a premier university sporting environment.

Working with our Head Coach and High Performance team, you’ll help deliver the annual training program, provide technical coaching, and support athlete development while strengthening

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience within the professional sport industry.
• Silver Licence coaching accreditation.
• Experience coaching elite swimmers to State, National and/or International level.
• Experience developing and delivering elite swimming programs.
• Strong use of video as a coaching tool.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality coaching and technical instruction to the High Performance Swim Team.
• Develop and implement annual training and individual athlete development programs with the Head Coach.
• Utilise video analysis and performance tools to enhance technique and performance.
• Assist recruitment and retention of talented swimmers, including scholarship athletes.
• Collaborate with physical preparation and high-performance staff to support athlete development.
• Coordinate athlete participation and provide coaching support at competitions.
• Build relationships with Swimming Australia, Swimming NSW, NSWIS, AIS and Sydney University Swimming Club.
• Support administration, planning and ongoing development of the high-performance program.
