Job summary

Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) on the Gold Coast seeks an experienced High-Performance Manager to lead our sport programs and support athletes, coaches and performance teams pursuing podium results. You will help prepare Queensland athletes for major competitions and progress toward Olympic and Paralympic success.

The role requires proven high-performance experience, strong understanding of the Australian sporting system, and the ability to balance day-to-day needs with long-term performance

Responsibilities

• Lead Gold Coast-based QAS sport programs and support athletes, coaches and performance teams pursuing podium results.
• Prepare Queensland athletes for major competitions and assist in progression toward Olympic/Paralympic podium performances.
• Shape athlete and program plans, lead performance discussions, support coach development, monitor athlete progress and allocate resources as needed.
• Build trusted relationships, provide practical advice and maintain focus on high-level performance.

With less than two years until the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are seeking an experienced High-Performance Manager to lead our Gold Coast-based sport programs and support athletes, coaches and performance teams pursuing podium results.

Applicants must have demonstrated experience working within high-performance sport and be ready to step into the role from day one.

This is an exciting time to join the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) and our High Performance Programs team.

With less than two years until the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are looking for an experienced High Performance Manager to help lead our Gold Coast-based QAS sport programs and support athletes, coaches and performance support teams pursuing international success. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing Queensland athletes for major competitions, helping them progress towards Olympic and Paralympic podium performances.

We are seeking someone with demonstrated experience working within high-performance sport environments who can step into the role from day one. A strong understanding of the Australian sporting system, athlete development, coaching and performance planning is essential.

Working closely with athletes, coaches, National Sporting Organisations, performance support practitioners and other system partners, you will help shape athlete and program plans, lead performance discussions, support coach development, monitor athlete progress and contribute to decisions about program priorities and resource allocation.

You will be part of a team of experienced QAS High Performance Managers who work across a range of sports and programs, sharing ideas, challenging thinking and helping coaches solve performance problems. The role requires someone who can build trusted relationships, have honest conversations, provide practical advice and help keep athletes and coaches focused on what is needed to perform at the highest level.

We are looking for a person who:
