Job summary

The Clancy Group is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2/HIAB & Plant Operator to join our Cambridge team on the UK Power Networks Overhead Line contract. This role involves more than driving; you’ll support pole installation, loading/unloading, and plant work across sites with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You’ll hold a full UK driving licence, a valid Driver CPC, and HIAB/Lorry Loader qualifications, with prior experience operating HGVs and lifting gear.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 2 / Category C) with valid Driver CPC.
• HIAB / Lorry Loader qualification.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 2 vehicles on UKPN contract and site routes.
• Operate HIAB / Lorry Loader equipment per training and authorisations.
• Transport plant, poles, materials and equipment to sites.
• Load, secure and unload excavators and other plant safely.
• Support auger and pole installation activities where trained.
• Work with Linespersons and OHL operatives during shutdowns.
• Conduct daily vehicle and equipment checks and report defects.
• Ensure loads are secured and vehicle movements safe.
• Follow RAMS, UKPN requirements and Clancy HSE procedures.
