Job summary

McDermott Aviation in Bendigo is seeking a hands-on Helicopter Refueller / Truck Driver to support aerial firefighting and aviation operations during the fire season. You will refuel helicopters, operate fuel trucks and provide essential ground support to pilots and engineers.

This casual seasonal role requires an unrestricted HR licence, DG licence, a current Australian Driver Licence, and full working rights.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Refuel helicopters and support aircraft ground operations.
• Operate fuel trucks in line with Dangerous Goods requirements.
• Assist with loading and handling firefighting substances and equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of refuelling equipment.
• Provide ground support to aircraft, vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain fuel storage facilities and operational areas.
• Complete operational documentation and inspections.
• Follow safety procedures and WHS requirements at all times.
• Travel to support seasonal firefighting operations when required.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Helicopter Refueller / Truck Driver to support our aerial firefighting and aviation operations in Bendigo.

The Opportunity

This hands-on role is critical to supporting aircraft operations during the fire season. You will work closely with pilots, engineers and operational personnel to ensure aircraft, fuel and equipment are ready for deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Refuel helicopters and support aircraft ground operations.


• Operate fuel trucks in accordance with Dangerous Goods requirements.


• Assist with loading and handling firefighting substances and equipment.


• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of refuelling equipment.


• Provide ground support to aircraft, vehicles and operational equipment.


• Maintain fuel storage facilities, yards and operational areas.


• Complete operational documentation and inspections.
