Job summary

Ipswich City Council invites applications for a Heavy Vehicle Operator to support our Capital Delivery Team in building and maintaining vital community infrastructure across Ipswich. You will operate water trucks and tandem tippers, maintain gear, and follow strict safety standards to ensure efficient, high-quality outputs.

You should have an HR Driver’s Licence, proven heavy vehicle experience, and a Construction Industry safety card.

Qualifications

• Current HR Class Driver’s Licence.
• Previous experience working in heavy vehicle operation.
• General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) card.
• Certificate 3 in Civil Construction or construction knowledge and experience is highly desirable.
• Be self-sufficient and able to work under minimal supervision.
• The ability to work in line with our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and equipment such as water truck and tandem tippers.
• Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained.
• Follow safety standards when loading, unloading and operating loaded vehicles.
• Prepare and apply materials efficiently and safely.
