Job summary

Queensland Fire Department is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance technician to service and repair fire appliances, pumps and related equipment across Queensland. You will work under the Workshop Supervisor to ensure operational capability and NHVR compliance, completing job sheets and maintaining safety standards.

You will need a relevant heavy vehicle trade certification, a current MR license and willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call roster.

Qualifications

• Current Medium Rigid driver's license.
• Trade certification Level 1 Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent.
• Experience in heavy vehicle maintenance environment.
• Ability to perform scheduled maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Undertake servicing, repairs and maintenance of fire appliances and related equipment in line with heavy vehicle legislation and the Act.
• Service and repair fire pumping and related systems to manufacturer specs.
• Safely use hand tools and electronic diagnostic equipment in line with WH&S policies.
• Participate in manufacturer/in-house training to maintain competencies.
• Diagnose faults, including electrical issues, and conduct road tests as required.
• Enter data into Fleet Maintenance System and update parts inventories.
