Job summary

Irons Auto Repairs in Townsend, NSW is seeking an experienced Mechanic for a full-time role. You will diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions and electrical systems.

Weld and fabricate as needed, while upholding safety standards and accurate job records. The successful candidate will have a recognised automotive apprenticeship, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to read technical manuals.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in automotive mechanics or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical knowledge across engines, transmissions and suspensions
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and modern automotive equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle faults and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and technical expertise
• Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and general inspections
• Conduct repairs to engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension and electrical components
• Execute welding and fabrication tasks as required for vehicle repairs and modifications
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and workshop procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used for each vehicle serviced
• Communicate with customers to explain repairs needed and provide cost estimates
• Ensure tools and workshop equipment are maintained in good working condition
• Keep abreast of new automotive technologies and repair techniques relevant to the trade
