Join Cleanaway at our Somersby NSW workshop as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. You will maintain and repair a fleet of waste trucks, ensuring safety and efficiency in a hands-on role.

Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, conduct scheduled servicing, diagnose hydraulic and electrical faults, and keep service records. Trade qualification and HR licence are advantageous in this environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (Cert III or equivalent).
• Valid HR licence advantageous.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrics.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently and cost-effective.
• Experience with fleet maintenance and running repairs.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsabilités

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy vehicles.
• Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure fleet safety and compliance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Maintain accurate service records using fleet management systems.
• Support workshop safety and cleanliness in line with WHS policies.
• Carry out basic welding and grinding work as required.
