Qualifications

  • Experience in the Heavy Vehicle industry, especially with American, European or Japanese drivelines is highly regarded.
  • Current HC/HR drivers licence is an advantage but not essential.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.

  • Conduct repairs and service on a variety of trucks and buses.
  • Perform diagnostic analysis using advanced technology.
  • Provide support to apprenticeship programs in the workshop.

What you will be doing

Due to exciting growth in our service department, we are looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our team at Dandenong. We have opportunities available on both the day and afternoon shifts, working with a variety of truck and engine brands, including Volvo, Mack, UD, and various other makes of trucks and engines.

Your main responsibilities

  • Repairs, service and inspections to engines, gearboxes, brakes, diffs etc. on a wide range of trucks and buses.
  • Diagnostic analysis using the latest diagnostic software and computer equipment
  • Produce clear and concise reports detailing all work carried out on repair orders including supplies used and recommendations in a prioritised order
  • Provide support and guidance to Apprentice mechanics / mechanics / trade assistants

  • Minimum certificate 3 mechanical trade certificate/qualification
  • Experience in the Heavy Vehicle industry with experience on American, European or Japanese drivelines highly regarded but not essential
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a customer focused team
  • Current HC/HR drivers licence an advantage but not essential
  • Pride in your work with an ability to work to targets and high standards
  • High levels of motivation, reliability with a can-do, positive attitude
  • Effective communication skills with a commitment to workplace safety
  • Own tools (specialised tooling available from our inhouse tool room!)
