Job summary

Richers Transport in Maryborough, QLD, is seeking a trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic for our Maryborough Workshop. Apprentices in their 3rd or 4th year may also be considered.

You will work in a modern, well-equipped workshop with a range of fleet assets, and opportunities for licencing upgrades and career progression. Applicants will undergo health checks and drug testing as part of employment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified heavy vehicle diesel mechanic with relevant certification.
• Basic electronic/electrical skills (formal or informal).
• Forklift and heavy vehicle licences are a plus; willingness to upgrade/licences onsite.

Responsibilities

• Work under limited supervision within a team environment.
• Possess basic electronic/electrical skills (formal or otherwise).
• Exercise good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understand and apply quality control measures.
• A licence to operate forklifts and heavy vehicles would be an advantage.
• Applicants will undergo previous employment checks. Our company has a strong health program and consent for drug and alcohol testing is a mandatory condition of employment.

Job description

Richers Transport operates the company's head office in Maryborough, on the fabulous Fraser Coast in QLD. Our company is a prominent carrier into the Wide Bay region, having been established since 1935.

We currently have a full-time job available for a Trade Qualified, Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic based in our Maryborough Workshop. Apprentices in their 3rd or 4th year will also be considered.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday with weekend and on-call work rosters at an additional rate
• Two shifts: Morning (5:30 am to 2:00 pm) and Afternoon (2:00 pm to 10:30 pm)
• Shift rotation: 2 weeks on morning shift, 1 week on afternoon shift
• Afternoon shift loading applies
