Job summary

Shoreline Freighters in Coffs Harbour is seeking a motivated HR Truck Driver to join our freight team. You will safely transport and deliver freight, perform pre-start inspections and use scanners to record deliveries.

Qualifications

• Current and valid HR (Heavy Rigid) driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Heavy Rigid (HR) truck to transport and deliver freight.
• Complete scheduled deliveries and collections within allocated timeframes.
• Load, unload and secure freight in line with load restraint requirements.
• Conduct vehicle pre-start inspections and report defects or maintenance needs.
• Use electronic scanners to record freight movements and delivery information.
• Adhere to road transport laws, Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and safety policies.
• Communicate professionally with customers, depot staff, dispatchers and management.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the vehicle.
• Report incidents, delays, freight discrepancies and other issues promptly.
• Provide professional customer service and represent the company positively.

HR Truck Driver

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, dependable and safety-conscious HR Truck Driver to join our team in Coffs Harbour.

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation and delivery of freight, ensuring all deliveries are completed efficiently and in accordance with company procedures, road transport regulations and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a commitment to workplace safety and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider transport team.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Heavy Rigid (HR) truck to transport and deliver freight.
• Complete scheduled deliveries and collections within allocated timeframes.
• Load, unload and secure freight safely in accordance with load restraint requirements.
• Complete vehicle pre-start inspections and report any defects, damage or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Use electronic scanners and other relevant systems to record freight movements and delivery information.
• Follow all road transport laws, Chain of Responsibility requirements, fatigue management procedures and company safety policies.
• Communicate professionally with customers, depot staff, dispatchers and management.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned vehicle.
• Report incidents, delays, freight discrepancies and other operational issues promptly.
• Provide professional customer service and represent the company positively at all times.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A current and valid HR (Heavy Rigid) driver's licence.
• Previous truck driving experience in the transport or freight industry, preferably.
• A strong commitment to safe driving practices and workplace safety.
• Good knowledge of road transport regulations and load restraint requirements.
• The ability to complete vehicle inspections and identify potential safety issues.
