Job summary

Glencore invites applications for a Maintenance Fitter role at United Wambo, a long-life open-cut coal operation in the Hunter Valley, NSW. You will maintain and repair heavy mobile plant across a diverse mining fleet, working under a Maintenance Supervisor to keep equipment safe, available and reliable.

Qualifications

• Must have open cut maintenance experience across haul trucks, excavators or ancillary equipment.
• Exposure to Caterpillar, Komatsu or Liebherr mining equipment is desirable.
• Strong commitment to risk management and safe work practices.
• Sound diagnostic and fault-finding ability with pride in repair quality.
• Clear communication and reliable teamwork in a busy site.
• Willingness to challenge inefficient ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned and unplanned maintenance to safety and quality standards.
• Diagnose faults, perform repairs and document maintenance records.
• Identify repeat defects and suggest reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with supervisors, planners and reliability personnel.
• Mentor apprentices and support safe, verified workplace capability.
• Apply risk controls and stop work when conditions change.
